Health and Safety compliance is more than Red Tape and yes, it may cause major headaches for many employers including micro businesses and the sole trader but is a necessary evil. In the current working environment even minor accidents or incidents can have potentially litigious and costly consequences.

Training Express, has developed a series of modular training programmes specifically designed to help small Wiltshire businesses maintain and improve profitability. The packages are free and being funded through a joint initiative between Wiltshire County Council and Wessex Chamber of Commerce.

Programme Coordinator, Brieley Hart, from Training Express said ‘the focus in the design of the programmes was to offer Wiltshire businesses a truly flexible package of training courses that will enable employees to actively contribute to reducing business costs and maintaining compliance. Our programmes will appeal to a range of businesses including micro and the self employed. The content includes health & safety guidance, skills training, working at heights and forklift truck operator training for the construction, industrial and landbased businesses.

In addition, our safe and economic driving programme, ‘Smarter Driver’ will show road users how fuel can be saved and road risks managed.
